Notes:

Dark grey to black, fine-grained, compact, micritic limestone, which weather usually to pale grey. Equivalent to Calp. Watson (1911, p. 126) noted that its susceptibility to a high polish 'would make a useful marble, but the owner of this valuable deposit states that, up to the present [1911], it has not been utilized for that purpose.' Calp Limestone and its equivalents do not generally take a high polish, with their elevated silica content instead producing a characteristically honed finish.
