Notes:

Undifferentiated Visean limestone, outcropping at Rooskagh, west of Athlone, produced the 'Rooska' marble. It is a deep charcoal grey marble, sparsely embedded with tiny, disarticulated crinoids, resembling the Kilkenny Grey Marble quarried at Threecastles, but with a distinct brownish hue. Polished Rooska stone appears almost black when viewed from a distance, as seen in the choir and chancel of Christ Church Cathedral Dublin.
