Notes:

"... around Boyle... there is excellent limestone of a light blueish grey colour, which becomes whiter on being worked, and from which large blocks could be obtained, if properly quarried. This variety is, however only local, the prevailing rock being an impure calp-like dark coloured stone" (Wilkinson, 1845, p. 264) - dark nodular calcarenite & shale.
