Notes:

The circular marble staircase in the north transept is based on that in the west choir of Mainz Cathedral. Sir Thomas Drew made a model of his design for the stair in St Patrick's, now in the V&A. Restoration funded by Sir Benjamin Lee Guinness at a cost of 150,000 Guineas.
