Notes:

Established prior to 1840 and still in use by the late 1930s. A limestone and marble quarry of excellent quality was situated 2 1/2 miles from Limerick in Garryglass townland, 1km southeast of Ballysimon Bridge and 1km from Ballysimon village. The nearly horizontal beds varied from 7 inches to 6 feet in thickness. The premier bed was 12 inches thick. A marble works was located at Ballysimon Bridge (marked on OS Historic 6" map).
