Notes:
The western Rock Farm Quarry was situated in the Little Island Formation. Stone raised from this quarry was massive, crinoidal, fine, light grey limestone. It was better quality, a lighter colour and easier to work than the limestone in the eastern quarry. Referred to by Seamus Murphy in his book Stone Mad who noted the names of various beds: Blasting rock, Glass-bed, Cockle bed and Grey bed. The Grey Bed was most favoured by monumental sculptors.References
