Notes:

Located three miles north of Carrick-on-Shannon, this quarry supplied stone for the Carrick-on-Shannon bridge in 1846. Also referred to as 'Castlelavin' by Kinahan (1889) and 'Carrick Slaim' in Rivington's Series of Notes on Building Construction (1879). Cost of the stone was 8d. per cubic foot in 1858.
