Notes:

Silicious, durable, easily worked and extensively used in Cavan town (Kinahan 1889, p. 238). Marine sandstone unit and 'shaly pales and pale beds', that is silty and sandy limestones that are variably fossiliferous with occasional parallel and cross-laminations and some fine-grained limestones (GSI).
