Notes:

A grey crystalline limestone found in massive, thick beds. Some beds contained an abundance of crinoids while others exhibited a cloudy texture; these beds were preferable for polishing purposes. The stone was used both for building and decorative purposes, e.g. polished chimney pieces and ornamental slabs.
