Granite from Boherduff, Newtown Co. Carlow. Inscription stating this cut into wall surrounding lighthouse (http://www.bagenalstownparish.ie/our-parish/parish-history/newtown-history/). The granite was transported from the quarry to stone yards in Bagenalstown where it was dressed (Conry, 2006, pp. 90-91) and then transported to Skellig Rock. Valentia Slate used for face the old lighthouse (Aidan Forde, pers. comm., 7 May 2020) and for copings on the walls (Peter Cox, pers. comm. 7 May 2020).References
